SO after putting it off for weeks, maybe even months, me and my friend finally went down to check out the "Korea Town" of the east coast, also known as Ananndale, VA. The drive down there wasn't bad but, trying to follow GPS is a little harder than you'd think, ESPECIALLY trying to make left turns in DC. After enough "recalculating", we finally made it out of the city and into Ananndale and as soon as we turned off, we began seeing korean sign after korean sign. We were looking for one store in particular, "Music Plus", which, from what I heard, has the largest selection of Kpop in VA. To our amazement, it was doors down in a plaza from U&I Karaoke and a bunch of other korean stores and restaurants. It was really exciting to finally find a place that carries this stuff and other asian goods. I wound up buying one CD by a Korean artist I searched all over Shin-Okubo, Tokyo for. Even in the Korean areas of Tokyo I couldn't find his stuff so I got pretty lucky. There was even one of those sticker machines inside the store but it was like 6 bux to do. WAY to expensive considering if you went to Korea, or Japan, those sticker machines are like 2-3bux. I do miss it though....本当に楽しかった。So we spent the evening down there checking out different stores and karaoke places, and wound up going to one we just happened to stumble into. The place was AMAZING. REALLY nice rooms, leather couches, and the tv even talks to you. I am definitely having my bday down there. The guy there who ran the place was really cool and we chatted with him and found out he used to live in Hanover.
Oh I forgot to mention the place we had dinner..It was some Japanese/Korean restaurant but really wasn't. They had all the korean foods, but the Japanese ones were renamed I guess so Americans can understand. So I really had no idea what half the foods were and just went with something safe. And our waitress could barely speak any english so that was pretty annoying. I dont think I will ever go back there. Well after all that we made our way back up to MD and got home fairly early, around 130am.
It was nice to get out before I got busy. I just took on two freelance projects and I think I have another interview coming up, actually near Ananndale. The place is located in Vienna so Im looking forward to speaking with them. Wish me luck with my second interview!

(The CD I ended up buying) ^^

For some reason, as soon as I laid eyes on this hair style I fell in love with it. I was watching Paris Hilton's BFF show ONLY because they went shopping in Tokyo (and visited all my favorite stores *sniffle*), and she actually won the show in the end, which I'm glad she did. Love her fashion sense and her hair! Kinda punk yet trendy. I have been trying to accomplish this hair style with not much luck T_T I think I have the right hair cut, I just need to style it correctly..I even tried a new salon and of course it looked good when I left but the next day blah. I will keep working at it with all my different hair irons, lotions, etc. (lol) Wish me luck!

Well, as if this year hasn't flown by already, we are preparing to bring in another new year. A lot happened in 2008 and I have a feeling that a lot is gonna happen in 2009. This past year I graduated, went to Japan TWICE, made some really cool friends (some who I had to say goodbye to at grad...), went to NYC three times, and also noticed some personal changes. For example, I got rid of all my anime and have moved on to just music. Also, slowly getting rid of my punk clothing I got in Japan since I don't really dress up for concerts anymore and don't go to cons. Guess Im getting old... Im getting rid of stuff on ebay too. The less I have to move out the better, which I found out after helping my sister move. My music taste is also changing in that Im listening to a lot of r&b/hiphop now. Most korean music is that kind of music so I guess it's catching on. I still love my japanese rock but korean pop is catching up fast ^^ In fact me and my friend are headin' down to Annandale, VA tomorrow to go to a korean bookstore there..they have cd's too ^_-. Knowing us we will be hittin' up karaoke too XD There's a shit ton of korean places down there so it will be nice to check out some new karaoke places.
I have just started going to the gym (normally I run on the trail) and really liked it. It's also nice that you don't have to freeze outside! I definitely plan to exercise a ton. I feel much better doing that than sitting around watching tv. This year I also plan to finish school FOREVER, get a job, and move out! Im pretty excited about all that but it probably won't happen till the later half of this year. Im pretty confident in that I will find something workwise. I am gonna contact my teacher at Under Armour to see if she can hook me up with something. She is a senior graphic designer there.
As for Japan, I don't know when my next trip will be, but the earliest will be sometime in 2010. I ended up burning through more money than i thought in sept so I have to be careful until i get a job. I can't wait till my friend gets back from school over there in September. I want to hear all about his year, even though it will probably be a kick in the gut XD. Oh well life goes on..Like I said, im looking forward to this year and I have a feeling that this will be a big year and I can't wait!

(thought i'd throw in a picture of one of my new korean fav's. Naneul nul Sarang he!)

Well, back again, I guess im just getting used to posting once a year..I really do completely forget about LJ haha Just got back from Jersey and from my fourth time seeing Mucc live. Its also my fourth trip up to NYC this year. Talk about tired. I stayed with my friend in NJ and we took the train in. We had a hard time getting up early. Time really goes by when u are shopping. Before we hit the city we went back to Mitsuwa marketplace in Edgewater, NJ and got some lunch and I stocked up on Mitsuya Cider ^^ Wow i missed that drink. That was my favorite drink in Japan. They were out of Qoo but I got some other brand of apple juice and it tastes almost the same. Being on the train and looking out the window at night really reminded me of being on the bullet train leaving from Hiroshima in Sept...
The first night in the city we went to get some Tonkatsu at this place called Hatsumama on 37th street. Pretty close to the real thing. We found the korean music store along Korea Way and also went into Kinokuniya bookstore. Before the show, we did some speed shopping though Macy's and H&M. I got myself some new gloves and a hat. We actually didn't even line up until 15 min before the doors opened, and considering that, we got pretty close to the stage. Im glad that we dont feel the need to line up half a day in advance anymore. Plus it was FREEZING, it even snowed the Saturday night we were just walking around. After the show they were doin' autographs but I've met them twice and gotten their signatures twice, so we didn't see the need to stay and wait in the long ass line. My ears are still ringing but its going away. Well as of right now my next show is the Korean Music Festival at the Hollywood Bowl in May and Girugamesh in Seattle in April. Now I better get back to this After Effects project thats due in like 5 days...>>

Hahaha. Im back again. This time it's been over a year since I have posted. And again, I just got back from japan about three weeks ago. Time is really flying already. I have been sick since before I got back though. I think it's just allergies but who the fuck knows. This always seems to happen to me. I saw soooooooooooo many bands in Japan. I went to 8 shows in two weeks!! That's one almost every other day. I was tired but it was sooo worth it. I saw some of my most favorite bands, Girugamesh, Renrer En Soi, and even Sel'm! I LOVE Sel'm! They are very indie, and not many people know about them but they're music is incredible. I also saw LM.C, Angelo, Tokyo Mikaeru, D'espairsRay, Jinkaku Radio, Lolita23q, and a bunch of other bands at Stylish Wave at Zepp. I really got into the show and my neck hurt for about two days. It was the night before I left so I had my flight home the next day, then school the day after I got back. I had like zero time to prepare for school. I went to some other live houses such as Holiday Shinjuku, Takadanobaba AREA, Shimokitazawa ERA, Shibuya O, Zepp Tokyo, and some others that I can't remember. I even got to see my Japanese friend I havn't seen since high school! She lives in Nishi-Hachioji, which is like 45 minutes outside the main city. I can't wait to go back in September. I miss authentic Japanese food!
Well i better start feeling better soon. Im getting tired of coughing....I wanna go karaoking again!!! XDDD

She has the coolest visual kei/punk clothes. They were a really great price but i just got back from spending 500bux at otakon ><;; I downloaded some Panic Channel. I havnt listened to them for a long time. I forgot how good they are. ::listening:: They are very fun like Charlotte and An Cafe. I really hope my back gets better soon...

It is pretty early in the morning. It has been great not having to work anymore. I dont really do anything anymore. I set up the loft for Christy and Kathy for when they come down for otakon. I cant wait. Ive been watching Full Moon O Sagashite because I never finished it from like 2 years ago. I really think its cute. Takuto ga daisuki!!! I know Christy is excited about coming down. Im up to episode 28 in two days! Its great to have that kind of free time. Not having to be anywhere on time is great. I actually played a little DDR today. First time in a very long time. I love my new Mac laptop. Takakatta desu yo!! Ive been studying as I watch fullmoon. It really helps to hear the words. I cant wait till otakon!!! Tanoshimi da!!!!
I woke up early yet again today although I didint get out of bed until 12pm. I think Im still jetlagged a little. I went up to Marley station mall to try to find a black turtleneck shirt for my Roxas costume but I had no luck. I tried to go to Hancock Fabrics but they close at 5pm on Sundays. I stopped at K-Mart on the way and was able to find some great shoes to use. Jo-ann fabrics was still open so i went in and bought everything else to finish off the shoes and the shirt. I finished the shoes when i got home. They look really awsome. Better than I thought they'd turn out to be. I talked to Rachel but as usual she had to meet Mike later. It is slowely turning into a Marybeth situation...Who didnt see that coming. She always has to be there. I said bye to Gigi and Bill at the party in Kent Island yesterday. It was sad. I am going to miss Gigi a lot. She never blew me off like Rachel and Marybeth. Oh well. I cant wait till Otakon. Gotta keep goin!
oye. Yesterday I threw out my back doin who knows what. I went to the emergency room but there was a long wait so I went to Messics instead. She just said use ice and gave me a script for Skelaxin and Motrin 800mg. I had to call out of work and she put me off for today as well. Ive just been sitting around all day. It sux a alot. I think I can sit now. Tommorow I have to work at 3. I got her to change my schedule. It is my last day working with Gigi...Kanashii desu....

Man I love days off. Today I finally was able to sleep in. I wasnt sure what I was doing today. Pete called and said that the bbq was next Saturday. So i called Gigi around 4pm and helped her unpack the explorer. Then we went to the Annapolis mall and just talked about work then went back to her house and watched some tv. When I got home I found the american magician I was watching on tv in Japan. He is Fuckin amazing. I watched his videos on YOUTUBE the rest of the evening.
